B103 and Sammons 847 are getting put out with Polypay ewes for January Lambs today. We're also putting out a Targhee Dorset cross ram with our two Finn Ramboullet cross ewes.

The National Polypay Sale went well this year. There were three rams that all went above $1000! We did not take anything this year as we were not planning on having time to handle a newborn and bring a set of Polypay sheep to the sale. Little did we know at the time entries were due that Bailey would have been here for nearly two months and very settled in!

Bailey Thomas Hood was born this morning, 6 weeks early! He weighed just 5 lbs 4 oz, but he's doing great!

Over the past couple days, my work has ramped up on the maui project. The maui project is my recent personal side project where I will create my own Livestock Management System. The system will be composed of three components: a website where all the data will be integrated and stored, a client side program that will run on windows xp and vista, and finally a mobile application that will run on windows mobile 6. These three components will be fully integrated into each other, allowing for instant synchronization between each component. So I can enter lambing records on my phone, and have my website be instantly updated. Once I have perfect the system to my liking, I'll look into selling the system to other sheep producers. I will be looking for input from other producers, as I know the way I run my flock is different from the way you run your flock!

We have created a new page dedicated to the 2007 EPD data of all flocks. Currently, if you click on a column header that is sortable, the page will sort all data based on that column. This will allow you to see the trait leaders for each trait quickly. I will be adding various search features to this page in the coming days, as well as columns for percentile and composite index. If for some reason your data is on this page, and you do not want it to be visible on my page, please send me an email and I will take your data off of my page.

The 2007 National Sale was a success for Clear Creek. Our spring ram placed 2nd in class and sold to Athens Ohio. The early spring ewe class was split into two classes. We had one ewe in each. B128 placed 3rd in class, and B126 placed 4th in class. Both ewes sold to Kelsey Watson, who was the 2006 starter flock winner. Overall I believe the sale averages were lower this year than in the past, but we brought up our sale averages.
